The objectives of this policy are:
Reduction of carbon emissions by wise use of transportation
Use only of cleaning materials with no adverse impact on the environment
Reduce amount of site deliveries by using concentrated chemicals and planning journeys
Use recycled refuse sacks and packaging
Launder cloths, mops etc instead of disposal
Assist clients in waste recycling programmes
Encouraging suppliers and clients alike to conduct operations in an environmentally efficient manner.
Recycling and encouraging suppliers to recycle wherever possible including metals, paper, plastics and electrical equipment
Encourage use of new working systems, methods and equipment to continually improve our carbon footprint.
In consequence SSL Services Ltd will pursue the following sustainability programs of action:
We will train staff at all levels and in all areas of the business to ensure everyone is involved and understands our objectives
We will replace existing vehicles with low carbon emission vehicles at the end of their term
We will only use suppliers that are prepared to conform to our environmental objectives.
We will ensure that all site staff are aware of the requirement for laundering instead of disposal and have a means of achieving this.
We will instruct all sit staff to only turn on lights in areas they are working in and turn off when finished
We will provide mopping systems that use less water and train staff in correct use
We will endeavour to assess every major new initiative for its environmental costs and benefits.
We will monitor our environmental performance to demonstrate continuous improvement.
